The Game: Bang Along

12 03 2010

This is unrelated – but I’m on a bit of a Ludacris kick right now. Expect to see reviews in the near future for a few of his other CDs, probably ‘Theatre of the Mind’, and maybe his newest as well, ‘Battle of the Sexes’. Anyways, moving forward.

This is another song post – it doesn’t have a video to it though. It’s by The Game and is called “Bang Along”. I found this track when it first came out last May, so nearly a year ago. I hadn’t heard it in a long time though and found it again just recently. The ice cream truck beat is pretty sick haha.. it’s still West Coast gangsta-rap Game, but it has a laid back, chill feel to it. The actual sample is from The Impressions 1985 song “People Get Ready”.

Check out the song and let me know what you think.

Also for anybody interested in The Game, his fourth studio album entitled “The R.E.D Album” will be released on April, 20th this year (4/20! haha). The album’s first two singles have been released, “Krazy” ft. Guicci Mane and Timbaland and “Big Money”. Apparently the Game has a track with Justin Timberlake on his new album.. interesting.

Finally, shout out to Boi-1-da, who is producing on Game’s new album. Boi-1-da is a hip hop producer from Toronto, Ontario Canada and is one of the most sought after Canadian producers right now.. keep doin’ your thing for Canada!

Cheers.

The Game: Doctor’s Advocate

“  It’s the home of America’s gangster rap, the place of danger.. Where the cops are crooked and them bitches is killers, and them n****s hold it down like black guerillas ” – “Compton” feat. Will.i.am

I’m a huge rap fan but I’m definitely selective with what kinds of rap and what artists I listen to. I’ve always been kinda into West Coast gangster rap.. NWA and Dr. Dre, Tupac, Snoop Doog, etc. On the contrary, my favourite rapper is Jay-Z. haha. Anyways, I’m into the Game right now, specifically his second album and first since his departure from Aftermath/Interscope. “Doctor’s Advocate” debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, his second number one album. Although Game’s departure meant no Dr. Dre production on this album, he still had an all-star lineup of artists he worked with. Read the rest of this entry »
